This is my first post from the recently released WordPress App for the iPhone and iPod Touch! I have been waiting for this App to come out for quite some time, and hopefully this will increase my rate of bog posts.
It’s nice to see a Photo publishing feature in the first release. Combined with the 2.0 firmware’s Home+Power button screenshot feature I can easily make posts like this all from my iPod Touch!
Here is the Write page:
It gives you all the necessary functions to create, edit, tag, and categorize blog posts. I would really like to see more text effect settings such as font size, shape, and style, bullets and numbering, and justification, but for that matter the Mail App doesn’t even have these things. For their first blogging App WordPress has done a wonderful job.
The Picture page works just the way you would expect it to:
The first issue I noticed with this feature is that you must close and reopen WordPress for screenshots taken of the WordPress App to appear in the Photo Library. Unless you are doing a writeup of the app itself, I don’t see that being a problem, though. What I do see being an issue is that multiple images posted at the same time are added in reverse order. I would also like to see a feature enabling zooming and cropping of images before posting.
The Preview page is, in my opinion, the most useful feature in this App:
Being able to view each change you make to your posts without needing to exit the App and open Safari is a wonderful feature that I have used at least 30 times while making this post.
Lastly, the Settings page:
Not a whole lot of options here, but I forsee this becoming more useful as updates are released such allowing options for handling comments or controlling authorized post editors.
In the end I am very pleased with the feature-set available in WordPress’s first App release. I hope to see some more options for text effects, photo manipulation, and individual post settings.

Dude, I’m kind of PUMPED. I only wish you could cut and paste in Iphone.
That would help a BUNCH.
I agree. Unfortunately Apple has already stated in a recent feature plan that Copy and Paste is not a priority at the moment. Who knows when, if ever, they will impliment it.
